Combat Command (ENS Cwn Annwn)

This is a deck plan of Combat Command (the bridge) aboard the Earth Naval Starship Cwn Annwn, a major ship in the Diaspora Series.  Let me know what you think!

As with the command decks of larger and smaller ships, the focal point of Combat Command aboard Cwn Annwn is Centre Table, the hexagonal holographic chart table where the Commander, Vice-Commander or officer of the watch customarily stand while on duty.  Projecting the ship's master sensor plot directly above, and with a bank of repeater screens and readouts above, from Combat Command an officer can make direct visual contact with everyone on deck - and everyone can see them in turn.  Acceleration braces can unfurl from underneath during high-gravity maneouvres, but otherwise, it is customary for the duty officer to stand at Centre Table.

Directly in front of centre table (technically, outboard of it), is the vast holographic canopy, which customarily displays the ship's real-time environment, along with readouts and repeaters of main systems and objects of interest in the ship's vicinity.  The real-time environment is sufficiently clear that it gives the compartment the impression of being directly open to space, albeit bounded by the comforting lines and graphics of the master coordinate system.

Under normal running, there will be about twenty officers and men on duty in Combat Command, though this can double when the ship is at Action Stations.
